Zodiac Brand Design for Year of the Horse
This zodiac brand design project for Year of the Horse focused on creating a bold and meaningful visual identity inspired by strength, movement, and tradition. From the beginning, the goal was clear. First, the design needed to honor cultural symbolism. At the same time, it had to feel modern and visually striking. Because zodiac themed designs often rely on emotion and storytelling, the identity needed to balance tradition with contemporary appeal. As a result, the project centered on symbolism, clarity, and visual impact.
My Role & Responsibilities in Zodiac Brand Design
For this project, I handled concept development, illustration, and brand design. First, I researched the meaning and traits associated with the Year of the Horse. Next, I translated those qualities into visual elements such as form, motion, and balance. In addition, I focused on creating a design that feels powerful without being overwhelming. Then, I refined details to ensure the artwork remains clear at different sizes. Because symbolism matters, each choice supported the story behind the design.
Strategy & Approach for Zodiac Brand Design
The strategy focused on expression, identity, and recognition. Since zodiac artwork often carries personal meaning, the design needed to feel intentional and thoughtful. Therefore, I emphasized strong shapes and flowing lines to represent energy and progress. Moreover, the composition needed to work across print and digital formats. At the same time, it had to remain timeless. As a result, the design feels both expressive and adaptable. For cultural background reference, I reviewed general zodiac symbolism from China Highlights.
Design & Implementation of Zodiac Brand Design
During the design phase, movement guided every decision. For example, dynamic lines helped convey strength and forward motion. Meanwhile, balanced spacing kept the composition visually stable. During implementation, I tested the design across different backgrounds and layouts. Because versatility is essential, these tests ensured consistency and clarity. Consequently, the final artwork works well as a standalone piece or as part of a broader brand system.
